Poem: What if it was you?

What if it was you?
That brought the good and bad,
and all you’ve ever had,
from the dismal times to glad.
When searching for the secret
that could make you dreams come true,
What if it was you?

What if it were true?
That you imagined your destruction,
an unknowing introduction
to some universal function
that weaves a fabric from the thread
spun from fears inside your head.
If your asking why all your dreams are out of view,
What if it was you?

What if it were you
who could pave your life with gold
if you’d just take a hold
of the stories that are told
inside your mind,
within your heart,
ensure they shine,
erase the dark.

What if what you choose to feel dictates what is true?
What if it was you?
